Atawhai Counselling + Supervision are a kaupapa Māori, Māori-led service offering a range of services for individuals, couples, whānau, and professionals using culturally informed approaches. Our services and approach are designed to support Māori, Indigenous populations, POC, Pākeha & the LGBTQI+ Community.
Services are available in-person in Tāmaki Makaurau - Auckland, New Zealand,
or online via Zoom with our Māori counsellors and supervisors

I offer one-to-one counselling in-person from Parnell, Auckland or via Zoom (nationally & internationally). I am guided by mātauranga māori, indigenous models, theories and practices and I work from a relational, strength-based, and utilise pūrākau in my work.
I work within a range of areas some of these include; living with chronic pain, stress, depression, anxiety, life transitions, loss, grief, grief after suicide, self-esteem, building confidence, cultural understanding and competency, spirituality, intimacy, self-love, BIPOC & LBGTQI+ friendly, and so much more

I offer couples counselling in-person from Parnell, Auckland or via Zoom (nationally & internationally). I practice from an emotionally focused therapeutic model and I am guided by mātauranga māori, indigenous models, theories and practices.
I offer an intro session, if it is a good match this is followed by a commitment to a minimum of 4 sessions. This is offered as a one time package of $1650 which includes the intro session, 2 individual sessions and 4 couples sessions. After that sessions can be booked as individual sessions. The initial 4 sessions must take place within 3 months of the introduction session.

Sessions are in-person only and only available on Sundays

I support whānau to thrive, I work from an emotionally focused therapeutic model utilising pūrakau and mātauranga māori to support whānau.

I offer supervision to individuals working in the help sector, including counsellors, social workers, support workers and more. I can support your work clinically, while also supporting you to thrive in your work environment.

As a student or provisional member of NZAC undertaking work around working with Māori is fundamental. As tangata whenua I can support you in this journey as you work towards membership, cultural competency and cultural understanding.
Cultural supervision

Groups are $90 pp. min 3 people

Cultural supervision is slight different from Supervision. It is viewed within Te Ao Māori and is a collaborative space that caters to the needs of you and your environment.
